Altered In the studio (with video)

I spent a couple days this week tracking for Altered's upcoming CD "Graphic". Fun was had, music was made, and video was shot. Check out the video short here:

Out of curiosity, you don't remember the mics used on your kit do you? I'm trying desperately to figure out what mics to buy, and the drum sounds on that recording were mighty fine....

Sounds like oak, but not sure : )

Sticks are Vater 5A's. Not sure about the mic's, sorry.
On the DL means "Down Low" (or being subtle I guess you could say).

We debated a bit on if we should use a click or not. We tried a couiple takes but things didn't feel good for me. It was weird though because I don't think it was because I have bad time (I hope [img]tongue.gif[/img] ) but the tunes want to go certain places that may not get along with the click. The solo may want to push, or hell even speed up a BPM or two (OH MY GOD NO!!) If the tune travels the course that isn't perfect time I think it's OK (or human one might say), as long as the time isn't horrible. The click felt more like a leash this time around so we didn't use it except for one drum solo vamp (oddly enough).
If this were a pop record obviously it wouldn't be in question.

My friends and i were lucky enough to be able to attend one of the rehearsals prior to the recording session,and it kicked asses!!
When the cd is out,go buy it asap!!!Those guys are not joking,i'm telling you.
can't wait to hear it.
